Why golfers play Whispering Pines Golf Course
Whispering Pines Golf Course is the only municipal course on the Grand Strand, owned by the City of Myrtle Beach on the former Air Force Base a short drive from the airport. Designed by Finger, Dye & Spann, the par 72 measures 6,771 yards, and without a current published slope the claim stays modest: a traditional routing for mixed groups and mid to higher handicaps close to the hotels. It is the only Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary in Myrtle Beach, with new greens and the airport terminal behind the par 3 17th. It is not on our live tee sheet, but a Golfmaster can arrange it as an arrival day round.
