About the course

Why golfers play Colonial Charters Golf Club

Designed by architect John Simpson and opened in 1973, this course features a classic low country layout with mature pines and strategic water hazards. The green complexes are well bunkered, demanding precision on approach shots. Notable holes include the challenging par 4 18th, which requires a well placed tee shot to avoid water. The course is well suited for golfers who enjoy a traditional design with a moderate challenge.

From the course: Hi Curt, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for filling out the post-trip survey. This information is very helpful to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to complete it. As for Colonial Charters, It looks like they do have a few issues with some bare spots coming out of Winter. In talking to Shaun when he booked everything, we did discuss it being a budget course to help keep cost down but I agree it's a bad way to end a trip I'm already talking to Shaun about your next trip to Myrtle Beach, so get me some dates and I'll start the process while Myrtle Beach is fresh in your minds.  Fall is already selling out and Spring 2026 as well is booking at a good pace already. It was a real pleasure working with Shaun. Stay in Touch
