Just over the state line, is Tiger’s Eye Golf Links in Sunset Beach, NC; one of the five upscale Big Cat courses on the Ocean Ridge Plantation’s prestigious property, and perhaps the toughest to tame. Built upon virgin Carolina pine forest and natural sandhills, this links-style layout features 60-foot changes in elevation, rare for a coastal course, with breathtaking scenery and strategically placed obstacles along the way.

I thought this course was a bit too short from the golds, but it would’ve been too long from the white tees. But again course was in good shape.

The course layout and service at course was great. We were not very impressed with the condition of the course though. The greens were very tall and had not been cut recently. There also was very little difference between fairways and rough. I know the weather has been affecting maintenance, but do not feel the course should be describing course as a premium course. The other courses on property looked to be of equal quality.
