Valentine’s Day is here…

And let’s be honest, dinner and chocolates are great, but wouldn’t a golf getaway be even better? Whether you’re a couple that tees off together or one of you is just along for the ride (and the spa), Myrtle Beach is the perfect place to mix romance and a great round of golf.

Here’s how to plan the ultimate romantic golf trip—plus the best spots to wine, dine, and unwind after your round.

🏌️‍♂️ Step 1: Pick the Perfect Course for a Couples Round.

Not all golf courses are created equal—especially when romance is involved. You want a course that’s scenic, fun, and not so tough that it leads to a mid-round breakup.

Here are three Myrtle Beach courses that set the mood:

🌅 Caledonia Golf & Fish Club: Think oak-lined fairways, moss-draped trees, and Lowcountry charm. Even if you’re struggling on the scorecard, the beauty of this course makes it impossible to stay mad.

🏝 Pawleys Plantation: Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this course has breathtaking marsh views and a few challenging holes (a.k.a. opportunities for your partner to “accidentally” kick your ball into the fairway).

🌊 Grande Dunes Resort Club: Ocean views + rolling fairways = a dreamy golf date. It’s a perfect mix of challenging and scenic, with postcard-worthy holes along the Intracoastal Waterway.

💡 Pro Tip: If you and your partner have very different skill levels, consider playing a scramble—less pressure, more fun, and fewer “coaching” arguments.

🍸 Step 2: 19th Hole, The Most Romantic Places to Toast Your Round

After sinking that final putt (or conceding the last hole to keep the peace), it’s time to celebrate with drinks and dinner.

Here’s where to go based on your post-round vibe:

🍷 For the Wine Lovers:
📍 The Library: A cozy, upscale speakeasy-style steakhouse with a deep wine list and tableside martinis. Perfect for a classy, candlelit evening after a day on the course.

🥃 For the Laid-Back Couple:
📍 Whiskey Roots Bar & Grill: If your ideal 19th hole includes Southern comfort food, craft cocktails, and a relaxed atmosphere, this spot is a must.

🍹 For the “Let’s Make a Night of It” Couple:
📍 Mura: Myrtle Beach’s first conveyor belt restaurant serving up creative Korean small bites like fried chicken, bibimbap bowls, and chicken katsu sandwiches.

🌊 For the Ocean View Lovers:
📍 Sea Captain’s House: Nothing says romance like a seafood dinner by the ocean. Watch the sunset, sip some wine, and pretend your round went exactly as planned.

💆‍♀️ Step 3: Non-Golf Activities for the +1 Who Doesn’t Play

Not every couple is a golf-obsessed duo—and that’s okay. If your significant other would rather do literally anything else,

Myrtle Beach has plenty of ways to keep them happy:

💆 For the Spa Lover: Massages, facials, and complete relaxation while you play 18 holes. Win-win.

🛍 For the Shopper: The Market Common, cute boutiques, coffee shops, and zero golf talk.

🍷 For the Wine Enthusiast: Duplin Winery, Sample some local Carolina wines and maybe bring back a bottle for a post-round celebration.

🐬 For the Adventure Seeker: Dolphin Watching Cruise, have romantic, scenic, and a guaranteed better time than hitting out of a bunker.

💖 Step 4: Surprise Them with the Ultimate Golf Gift

If you really want to earn brownie points, surprise your Valentine with one of these:

🎁 A Golf Weekend Getaway: Book a stay-and-play package (and pretend it was their idea).

⛳ Couples Golf Lessons: A fun way to bond and improve your game together.

🏌️‍♂️ Custom Golf Accessories: Think engraved ball markers, matching headcovers, or golf shoes in their favorite color.

Roses are red, violets are blue… a golf trip beats dinner, and you know it’s true.

Whether you’re planning a full-blown golf getaway or just sneaking in a round before dinner, Myrtle Beach has the perfect blend of great golf and great date nights.

💌 So on Valentine’s Day, skip the overpriced flowers and book a tee time instead. After all, the couple that plays together… stays together (or at least has some great stories to tell).
